Common reasons for a delay
- The sender's email queue is temporarily slow.
- The recipient service filters or rejects disposable email domains.
- The address was mistyped or the inbox has expired.
- Repeated requests triggered a resend cooldown or abuse-prevention rule.
- The message was blocked upstream or failed authentication checks.
A safe troubleshooting sequence
- Double-check the recipient address and that the inbox is still active.
- Wait for the sender's stated delivery window.
- Check the provider's official instructions for resending a message.
- Request a resend once, then respect any cooldown.
- If the account matters, use a durable address accepted by the service.
Why not keep clicking resend?
Repeated requests can invalidate earlier codes, trigger rate limits, lock a flow, or create unnecessary load. Use the newest code only and never share it with another person or support agent.
Temporary inboxes have additional limits
Some services block disposable addresses by design, and MailTemporary cannot override that decision. Messages are deleted automatically, so do not use this workflow for important authentication or recovery.
For developers
In a system you maintain, capture provider response codes and timestamps, test queue behavior in staging, and instrument retries with exponential backoff and explicit rate limits. Do not log verification secrets or full email bodies unnecessarily.
