1. Create an address

When you open the homepage, the service generates a common name with a number from 1–100. You can customize it with 1–20 ASCII letters and/or digits. The standard mode does not claim the username exclusively, so messages are shared by address. Choose Locked Inbox for a temporary, exclusive claim.

2. Use the address where appropriate

Copy the generated address into a form for a low-risk signup, a product trial, or a test workflow. Some services block disposable email domains, and policies may change. Do not use temporary email to evade anti-abuse checks, impersonate another person, or bypass a service's rules.

3. Receive and read email

Mail for the address is routed to a Cloudflare Email Worker, parsed, and associated with an active mailbox. The page periodically refreshes while visible. Messages open in a safe reading view; external content and attachments are not loaded, and links are not activated.

4. Understand the two expiry clocks

  • Messages: each message is hidden as soon as its configured expiry passes and removed by scheduled cleanup.
  • Mailbox: the address is eligible for cleanup after the configured period of inbox inactivity. Opening the inbox renews the inactive mailbox lease, but does not extend individual message retention.

Scheduled cleanup runs regularly, so database deletion can occur shortly after configured expiry. The API stops serving expired messages immediately.

Standard mode versus Locked Inbox

Standard mode is shared-by-address for convenience. Anyone who uses the same address can see its messages, so the address must not be treated as a password. Locked Inbox is a separate feature that reserves an available username to one browser session while heartbeats continue. The lease ends after inactivity and cannot last more than three hours. Clearing site data or changing profiles can end your access; there is no account recovery flow.

Important: do not use MailTemporary for account recovery, password resets for important accounts, banking, healthcare, or any identity you need to retain.
